āBlessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, ā¦ his abundant mercy hath begotten us againā¦by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,ā (KJV) 1 Peter 1:3.
A Christian business contact wished me āHappy Easterā this morning. Now Iām thinking that whether weāre religious or not we have an opportunity to enjoy a pleasant weekend and indulge some decadent cross buns (see my recipeĀ https://www.sheronmingoy.com/cross-buns). The cross bun we enjoy may inspire us to think of the love of God and less on the fashion tren
ds and the commercialization of Easter. I love me but will confess Iām imperfect and a rebel at times that needs lots of prayer (just saying). Yet I acknowledge the selfless sacrifice God made to encircle me with hope and the wonder of unaffected love. Wow! Can we even fathom the depth of such love and that we thrive because God gave his life for us despite our indifference to his love and sacrifice on the cross? True, we should be good stewards of ourselves and wellbeing and reject anything that negatively affect our lives. But we should love others and rise above our frailties and ethical corrosions. How about we try to mimic Godās unconditional love for at least this Easter weekend? Well, those of us who are mortals. This means of curse we cannot become annoyed or vindictive towards family, friend or foe. This is a definite challenge since a few unsavory persons are now swarming my thoughts. God created
and has been with mortals from the beginning of time (see Genesis 1, Psalm 90:2 and other verses), if you just google āGod in the beginning of timeā.Ā So I will definitely think of God this Easter weekend and his resurrection on the cross which meant grace for us and many opportunities for change.
Check this link on the origin of easter and share any you have. Letās remember God and his resurrection as we celebrate this easter weekend. SM,Y
